CARTON HOUSE HOTEL & DEMESNE
CO. KILDARE
Project Architect: McCauley Daye O’Connell Architects
Carton House and Demesne represents a heritage asset of national importance, for its architecture and its designed landscape, and the contribution made by a succession of distinguished international architects and craftsmen. It is important also culturally, politically and socially as the residence throughout the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries of the Dukes for Leinster and the Fitzgerald family.
Molloy&Associates were appointed in 2018 as conservation architects, forming part of a wide team of professionals seeking to renew its prominence as a luxury hotel resort. A wide range of conservation and enhancement works, amounting to multiple statutory applications, were undertaken over a period of two years.
A 10 year Conservation Management Masterplan was prepared to determine methodical and appropriate management of this important site.
